My letter to Arizona Secretary of State, Ken Bennett, who says he MAY refuse to put Obama's name on the ballot this fall, unless he sees an official birth certificate:

Your recent demand to see President Obama's birth certificate is yet another reason why I am reluctant to tell people I live in Arizona. We are a laughing stock around the world for behavior like this, and this particular demand may be the most embarrassing yet. The man is the president of the United States. If he qualified to run for president initially...then he's eligible to be on our ballots for the upcoming elections. I have no idea what your motives are for making this threat--and it is a threat, no matter how you word it officially. And it may be playing well in Republican circles. But it has most of the rest of the world wondering what's in our water supply here in Arizona, that makes our elected officials behave so oddly. If you really need a copy of Obama's birth certificate, I have one. He published it last April, for all to see, and to settle all this. But I'm sure Hawaii will oblige, too. I do hope so, so that this non-issue can be resolved. Our state's reputation cannot stand much more of this.
